MASSAGE SPECIAL!

$39 for a 1 hour massage! Come on? Tammy came highly recommended from my Dad and Susan so I decided to give it a try. My sister and I scheduled are massages back to back with a lunch date planned right after. A lot to get done before carpool duty.

The spa is housed in, well…a house. It’s not the same feel as driving up to a Spa Sydell or Chatteau Elan but once you’re inside you forget you’re in a brick ranch right off Shallowford Road.

After filling out a questionnaire on my history and needs, Tammy briefly shares her massage technique, confirms my preferences and lets me change. The room was quit peaceful enticing all my senses. Soft music, water trickling down from a table top fountain, flameless candles emitting a warm glow, and a HEATED blanket-YES!

The next hour was completely relaxing and blissful. The stress of life flowed out of every finger tip and each toe. This was thoroughly therapeutic for my cold tired winter muscles. My enter body started warming up, waking up and getting ready for spring. This was by far the best massage I’ve ever had and I’ve had some pricey ones.

At $39/hour I can see why she’s booked out two weeks in advance with some clients having standing weekly appointments. Make yours today 770-355-0808

Fair Trade vs. Organic

Fair Trade labels indicate products created with a focus on improving the working and living conditions of small farmers and workers in developing nations.

Organic means the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has been banned on this crop. This obviously benefits the environment but also us as the consumer, as well as, the farmers and their families.

Combining both fair trade and organic yields a stronger stand for environmentally and socially responsible practices.

Recycled Totes

Construction maybe slowing down but that doesn't mean there's an end to all that orange "plastic" fencing they use to designate where to clear. It's EVERYWHERE! But now one of my Detroit homeys has a solution-ornj bags! Instead of being buried in someone's yard or in a landfill, this orange fencing is being recycled and re-purposed to tote your stuff from A to B...as in BEACH! Check it out!

Biodegradable Trash Bags

If you’re looking for a plastic alternative for trash bags (if you’re not, you should be…), let me suggest corn! The BioBag Tall Kitchen Trash Bags are starch based and 100% biodegradable and compostable. But don’t worry, they won’t start breaking down when you put in your wet trash. These bags must be exposed to nature’s elements and micro-organisms before they break down. In other words don’t use them to store dirt.

Lie to you, I will not. At $5.39 for a dozen 13 gallon bags they aren’t cheap. Consider it’s estimated one plastic bag can take 100 years to degrade and possibly 100,000 marine animals die annually because of our plastic debris and you see our move from plastic is necessary.

With this in mind, won’t you join me in disposing of your household waste responsibly?

If not a bio-bag, then I urge you to find another responsible alternative to plastic bags.
